I think its better that you forget approval on Dmoz. I don't know why they review sites with this long delay. I think they are doing it that people think its a very good directory. But i have reviewed some categories of them and i found some useless websites on them. Its better that they really approve quality websites.
I just suggest you to forget it and don't try for it.

First of all you have to add you site in to DMOZ by following the instruction.
And depending on the activity level of the editors in your area, it may take up to 2 weeks or more for your site to be reviewed. While the ODP is comprehensive in scope and coverage, we care a great deal about the quality of the ODP, and pride ourselves on being highly selective. We don't accept all sites, so please don't take it personally should your site not be accepted. Our goal is to make the directory as useful as possible for our users, not to have the directory include all (or even most) of the sites that could possibly be listed or serve as a promotional tool for the entities listed.

you should be aware that not all site succeed to enter DMOZ listing...if you already give it a try and still nothing happens...just go on, and do other things than wondering how and that..

I've just looked at what DMOZ lists for directories because I recently acquired one and unless your directory is of the same quality as the handful of truly excellent general directories listed there, there is actually no place to even submit a general web directory in DMOZ. I didn't bother.

It is great when you can get in DMOZ, and chrishirst is right - a good site can still get in.

For those sites that fit, there is only one sensible way to approach DMOZ. Carefully read and follow their submission guidelines, submit your site and forget it. If you get in someday, yay! If not, there are plenty of other sources for one way links.

Yes. Have a DMOZ "meta" (senior editor) as a pal, and you're in. It worked for me!... and, no, I'm not giving any more details.

I submitted about two years ago when my funny shirt website was extremly poor quality and almost no content. I wonder if I should try resubmitting, or is DMOZ likely to take a second look?

The word from my meta pal is 'Yes', DMOZ will take a second look after a reasonable time.

Hi!
Like others here, I just ignore DMOZ
I have submitted once and no any answer , at all...
I just do not know , whether my site was not accepted or my submitting is still pending...
Never mind, I am not going to re-submit...
I have heard the rumours that many volunteers are joining DMOZ as a editors, just to approve their sites to become listed there....he

If you have a web design company trying to get a listing in the DMOZ - I would guess they are overly swamped with requests from website designers.

Try Xemion - it's a PR6 website with quality PR4 listings last time I checked.

I have heard that the fact that DMOZ is a PR8 website does not mean that its pages have PR8. As in PR means PAGErank. The webpage linking to your site could have PR0. I'm just repeating what I've heard.
