Hello, Yes, you both are right, look for them in google or Yahoo.
Can I ask, what is special in .ca and .uk articles sites, so they are better than .com article sites? I am just curious about it

Whatever article site you submit..never leave out Ezinearticles.com.It a high PR site with good authority.

You can also find some articles on article directories that share articles as long as you don't omit the link on it.

"submit article" + .ca
"submit article" + .uk

along with the niche article directory also submit your article in top directories like Ezine, Articledashboard etc.
