Hello guys, I haven’t tried submitting my article to directories, and I am curious if there is really a real traffic from it; although I've heard so much about submitting to directories as one of the tricks to be able to attract more traffic and etc.

Same here.

No one uses directories like they did "back in the day"
With sites like google etc, there is no need to go hunting through pages on a directory anymore.

You will see no worthwhile traffic from it.

Your best bet is to put something useful on your website, Maybe write a blog about it and "share" the blog on facebook , twitter etc.

Make sure you link back to your site via the blog and if your content is really worth visiting... people will come.

Most if my traffic comes from:
Google
Blogspot ( various blogs from myself and others )
Other random search engines.
Facebook
Random sites with links back to me & other forums.
( None from directories )

It will not generate a lot of traffic to your site. Directory submissions are mostly used to create backlinks

Why would you want links that are NEVER likely to send useful traffic??

Gonna' depend on what that backlink does for your site......

There is really no way to actually measure the value to a site......
More traffic?....More SERP+?......Or?......

SGB is ABSOLUTELY USELESS no matter what it happens to show!

Directories used to work back in the day. Like everyone said, nobody uses them now. It is better to find links which you actually get targeted visitors from.

I know I have links in my signature line but they are related to my blog. If I owned a music blog, I would not comment in here to gain traffic...

Was wondering if it hurts you to apply and be featured in directories with low or no page rank. Is this like a minus one to your site?

Let me elaborate on my previous post. I am still trying to find out if this is helping or hurting because i spend a lot of time submitting them to free directories and even some paid blah blah. But I recently discovered something when paying for a PR6 listing directory, the PR of the page my site is on was ZERO.

So, my question is if you are submitting your website to lots of places free, but they stick you on an inside directory page that is NOT the same page rank as their main page, does the lower pr or pr0 actually TAKE POINTS away from your site or blog?

Just one suggestion

1/ Forget about SGB PR it means absolutely nothing at all.

2/ The SGB of a directory "home" page is NOT the SGB of the page where you link might be

3/ REAL PR is assigned per URL NOT per site or per page.

4/ There is no minus in the probability distribution that is REAL PR.

Nope. It only helps you in indexing your site.

now this is the funniest and the dumbest question i have ever heard.

would you like to explain how link to your site can harm it?
how something that doesn't give you anything can take away from you something?

there is no way even if you link to pr0 page it will harm your site never mind otherwise, but...
thank you for asking and to make my day
