Well bro dont call it a top ten dir list beacuse as for as the webleach directory is concerned i know this that it has purely gained this PR 9 through black hat methods by taking link from a page rank 10 web site.
So i think by just looking to the pagerank we cant say that webleach directory is the top amongst the top ten...

Yes a free directory listing is more preferred. As a freelancer you are working for clients that barely pay you for posting their websites to these directories they are not going to pay for listing.

Well, the web directory site is too time-consuming. If you want to get indexed by them, you have to wait for almost serveral months, especially those sites get high PR.

Some directories will list a site in minutes......

Now, you need to ask yourself that question, since at the end of the day, it's your time and what you want most ( clicks or links ) .

Most of 'em are a waste of time for me, since it doesn't send much visitors to my website.

Another reason why I'd submit my link to someone's link directory in the "submit to my link directory" forum is to make those users feel satisfied that someone is actually filling out the form to have their site included in the directory.

A few of the link directories which I've submitted to in the past from this list, were reviewed and included after 1-5 days wait, most of which were promised ( stated in the thread ) by the owner of the directory ( thread starter ) .
