I've heard it can take anywhere from a few days to 6 months. I'd be concerned if they had'nt added your site after 6 months
.
I had a chance to edit in DMOZ for 4 months. Starting in a small category working my way up to a Regional category before being locked out for disagreeing with a META. There's too much corruption and lazy editors. I even found out that there were sites submitted as far back as year 2000. And the claim that there are 70,000 editors is not true which all of the previous and present including the inactive editors are accounted for.
The best bet is always is that you suggest your sites once and forget about it and continue improving your sites with relevant links or become an editor yourselves. Theres no harm in trying. If you get approved then Happy Editing. If not, then none.
as far as to me dmoz is a dead directory. whatever links to submit to them either it is going to sit out or takes years to get included. i lost my hope with them.

That is one of my frustration with DMOZ. They treat webmasters as SPAMMERS and it is classified in one of the threads in their Internal Forum. While I was editing in DMOZ I found out sites that were submitted since 2001. All they did is to bump it to different categories and was stuck in the Unreviewed pool in sleeping categories without an editor.
Maybe try Adult and Doorway Pages it could get some listings .
There's nothing much you can do about your listing except waiting. Just follow the guidelines, submit once and to the proper category and wait. If the editors think that your site adds value to the category they will list your site.
