Web Directories

Hi guys,
How can i get a list of all directories on the web. ALthough i have search the directories and but i want a complete list of Directories and Search Engines. Is there any place on the web that will list all the directories.

I get a lot of hits to my directory from info.vilesilencer.com, it's a really good list.

kaleem_ullah I don't think you'll find a complete list since new directories and search engines appear all the time and I doubt anyone can list them all.

Dan (vilesilencer) and Jim Westergren manage this enourmous list and it gets a update almost regularly sometimes, daily.
you can find the updates in the forum.

Dan goes through each and every one of them to check they are SE friendly and doesnt use no follow and other things

so this is a quality list

apart from this there is directorycritic.com

Thanks for the additional links praveen. I came here to help someone else and I'm learning something new with each post. I like when that happens.

I'll still stand by my statement that kaleem_ullah isn't going to find a complete list in one place. Maybe it's just my interpretation, but I took the original question as 'what site can I go to that will list every single directory and search engine in existence'

I don't think that site exists. I do think there are many sites that will have lists of a lot of directories (you've provided some good ones) and to make as complete
a list as possible you need to look at more than one of them.

You can never get all of the directories on the Web. There are thousands of them. You can get lists of about 200 directories, but you will not get every single one of them.

Ive actually stared a new site called DASE Project

Directory and Search Engine project. Im going to try, with the help of others to list all of them and be the number one source for directories

Be number 1 (isnt that everyones dream?)

You have alot of work on your hands as there is thousands of them.

There are things like general web directories, affiliate program directories, free stuff directories, marketing directories, shopping directories.

It seems practicully endless. There is also alot of people setting up new ones on a daily basis and there are also alot of them shutting down aswell.
