Firstly, it can take a LONG time to get listed. You need to be patient.

Secondly, every time you re-submit you put your site back to the bottom of the queue.

Submit and wait is the best advice.

Like CAL said it is a bad idea to resubmit. You don't even have pr. You site must be new.

DMOZ recieves numerous submissions daily so to check each site and approve them takes time. Ask anyone who runs a simple free directory checking sites can be time consuming. Unfortuanatly it isn't easy to get listed on DMOZ so I suggest you read their guidelines and make sure you site is compliant before submitting again!

I only submitted once and it took about 3-4 months.

I was in MSN, Yahoo and Google before I made DMOZ.

oren it can take anywhere from a few weeks to a few years to get listed in DMOZ. It's a great link to have I agree, but the best thing to do is just submit it like you have and then forget about it.

The editors at DMOZ are volunteers and under no obligation to even review your site. It's a good link if you get it, but being listed there will not make or break or your site.

I have found it easier to get listed in the regional section of the directory which you can submit to in addition to the more general categories if your business has a geographical location. You want to drill down as far as you can into the localities. I've been able to get sites listed there in a matter of days.

If it means anything I submitted my site to one of the general categories about 3 months ago myself. I wasn't there the last time I looked though I don't look that often.

Don't worry about it though, Dmoz is only one directory, There are plenty of others out there.

I gave up on DMOZ a couple years ago. I got frustrated with waiting up to a year for a listing as well as editor sabotage. I've tried resolving issues with higher-ups and eventually, the problems were resolved but it took several months. In the meantime, my websites were listed with inaccurate information by a disruntled editor. I've heard of editors doing this for a ransom so now, I don't even bother. Is DMOZ really as important as it used to be?

It never really was! Just assumed to be.

I submitted my site into the sports section so long ago I don't even remember when I did it. I go and check every blue moon or so but don't really worry about it.
