Web Directories

I am new in link building and Its been a few weeks that I am Submitting our sites's URL to the directories. I noticed In some Directories the link appears in the search results but it does not appear in the category listing!
Why is that so?

Could you post a link to the directory in question? It's hard to know without knowing the specifics. It could just be that you're listed in a different category than you thought. I would think if you show up in the search then you have to be included in one of the directories.

I have actually lost count... but here is a few i remember...

http://www.winterfires.info
http://www.springsnow.info
The website "People to people lending" shows in the search with keyword prosper under "loans" category. But when you go to loans category, its no where to be found.

I see what you mean and it's kind of strange. The only think I can think of os that for some reason they're not showing all of the links in the category, but it really makes no sense.

How long ago did the links get accepted? I would think they would be in the catgeory as soon as they were, but maybe they just go in some general location at first.

Well, around a week or two maybe I'm not really sure... It is really strange indeed... well I thought maybe its a trend or something... because the above directories are not the only ones....

If it's only been a couple of weeks maybe it's a time thing. I did notice that the directories you mentioned above all look alike and are probably using the same script to manage the links. It might just be the script in that case. It wouldn't surprise me if it's the same person or company running all 3 directories.

It is weird though. Give it a few more weeks and see if they're still not showing up. I wouldn't worry about it though. There are a lot more directories out there. I've added my site to a bunch only to find after that they really didn't give me the link I thought I would get. I just move on to the next directory.
