Point well taken. I just wanted to point out that there are legitimate reasons to dislike DMOZ, although I will agree totally with you that most people who ***** are the same ones who ***** when their crappy sites don't get ranked by search engines.

I agree. I've yet to see the perfect directory, DMOZ included. For me it's always been easier to search and find what I want, though there are times when a directory can give me what I want faster.

I guess I sometimes get frustrated when I see people blaming the DMOZ for the lack of success with their site. The one thing that everyone needs to realize is that a listing in the DMOZ is not going to make or break a site. It's one link among many. I think it's a good link and I hope that in time my site will be included in the directory, but it's not worth worrying about or blaming the editors. The time spent complaining about your lack of inclusion would be better spent finding other links or just building a better site.
