Is there any hard and fast rule that i should submit to X number of directories per day ? Somewhere i've seen that one should not submit the site to more than 15 directories in a day. Google will penalise it. Is the information correct ?

Well you can submit to 300 in a day from those 300 some will aprove it very fast but until it gets indexed by google and calculating the time for all to review it's no problem i've done this and i didn't have any problems with the big G
