I have no idea, where to post this topic but I felt it’s a better place.
I have a quest on directory submission. Sometimes I find people do not accept sub-domain. What’s the reason behind that? Any directory owner over here who has the same policy in his submission guidelines? Can anybody explain why don’t they accept sub-domain? Any help would be appreciated.

I don't own a directory myself, but I run a submission service so I'm pretty familiar with the reasons for rejection.

Subdirectories are often used to create a ton of spam sites on the same domain (Ex: viagra.domain.com, cialis.domain.com, etc.). Refusing subdomains is an easy way to weed out spam and also sites on free hosts like blogspot.com.

If you absolutely have to use subdomains, most directories will accept them if you buy a featured link.
