I submitted to dmoz about 3 years ago + and have never gotten a confirmation that any of my sites were accepted. I have however heard stories of people knowing editors on dmoz that were able to get in that route.

Very useful list. But getting into them is really a Herculean task. Anyhow, I have submitted to three directories.

God knows why he posted those, no ive never got in to any of these and dont know anyone who has either lol !

I think people assume that if they do get into one of these, they can go buy an island in the bahamas and retire and watch millions of people find their site lol, unfortunatly we all know better lol !

It's almost impossible to get listed on DMOZ... though after many years I have some sites in their directory. I'd hate to imagine how hard the other directories are if they're even tougher than DMOZ. Guess there's no harm in trying.

The main problem over here is that there are an endless number of directories around. But I cant imagine that people (searchers) are actually using them. Some free once I checked out have a clicked on button next to each listing they have, but all counts to zero. So if nobody looks at my listing what is the point to list with them ?
Probably only Yahoo ! directory makes sense, but a little overpriced.
