I was wondering if listing in business.com is worth the expense. Google does not seem to view any links to my site and I have not recieved any pagerank, I am wondering if a listing would help.

How do you know?
There is no accurate way of knowing either metric.

If you think a business.com listing would send qualified visitors then it may be worth it, but paying for the listing for some unknown SE benefit? Definitely not.

Don't be fooled by the exorbitant and outlandish claims of the very many directory operators/owners about being "Search Engine Friendly" or how a listing will "Enhance your PageRank".
Directory links are pretty much at the low end of the spectrum for link value.

Since business.com's links are not direct I wouldn't pay for a listing.

Follow Hirst's advice, but apply a formula to it:

First, figure out your profit per visitor (profit from your site / number of visitors).

Then, divide 199 by that profit per visitor to see how many visitors you'll need from business.com to justify the ad link ($199/profit per visitor).

If you think you'll get more visitors than the number you'll need from business.com, the link is justified. If not, it isn't.

SEO benefits on top of that, real or perceived, are a bonus.

It really depends on your site's niche. Do you sell products of offer services?
If your site is not a business or business-related, don't list it at Business.com
