Can we please get something straight? The current forum you are in (the web hosting forum) IS NOT the place to advertise your hosting company!

If you want to advertise your hosting company, firstly you need to have 15 posts already. This is very important!

Once you have made 15 quality posts (not spam), then you can advertise in this forum.

I'm not a moderator but I find myself having to constantly report posts that are advertised here because no-one is reading the rules.

Sorry - this isn't directed at people who do read the rules and respect them. This is for people who advertise their hosting companies all over this forum

There is currently at least 4 advertisements in this forum from people who obviously haven't read the rules or obeyed them

I find myself in the same situation. Another troubling fact is that it sometimes takes a while for the infringing threads/posts to be removed, so the advertising has a chance to actually bring in sales.

Agreed. This problem should really be sorted out somehow. By taking a long time, spammers see sales coming in from this site and then post even more spam here.

The web hosting offers and requests forum needs to be sorted out as well. There is a minimum number of posts to advertise there of 15, but people openly flout this rule. A physical ban would be more than sufficient - stopping people with less than 15 posts to actually access the web hosting offers forum.

They don't read the site owners sticky thread at the top of the forum either.

And I'll thank both of you for reporting them since they're hard enough to find sometimes. Hopefully in the not too distant future we'll have a solution in place that should eliminate the problem.

Unfortunately the number of spamming messages is increasing in any forms - from e-mail to any kind of social networking sites. Look at MySpace ... there are too many spam there and anywhere.

Obviously most people don't care about discussions when they come to forums and prefer to post ads. This is not good for the webmaster and hosting industry.
