Dreamhost is good for newbies ........ not for most of the pro!!

It's real life experience that taught them that's not actually true. Like it or not, people want allocations way bigger than their needs, and, I suspect some just want to know they got the best possible deal, even if it's just on paper. Same thing sometimes goes for computers (and mind you, they're much more expensive than hosting). Ever seen anyone buying a top of the line computer just to chat on Yahoo, browse the web, and do other mundane things like that? I know I have.

I suppose once you look on it like that ye you are right, thanks for that guys. lol thats what i used to do still i got into web development!

When I was with DreamHost, from January of this year, through mid-May, I found service to be decent, with good performance on my blogs and forums. However, their network is notoriously flaky, and they've had more downtimes than you might accept for a business site.

The real reason I left, however, is because of their ultra-liberal freedom of speech approach. I discovered they hosted the American Nazi Party. Since I am Jewish, this presented a crisis of confidence, and voiced my concerns to their management. They repeated their policy, and I left.

I currently have a dedicated server at HostICan, where service, support and performance are all just great.
