Netfirms - am I the only one?

I've had some severe troubles with Netfirms in the past few months - I used them as a registrar and got their low-end hosting along with my registration. My site began intermittently flashing the "Future Home of . . . " page with the Netfirms logo on it instead of my site! Customer service simply denied that the problem was occurring (after keeping me on hold for a long time). I finally switched over to a different host for those domains.

So here is my question: am I an isolated case, or is Netfirms really this bad? Does anybody have a positive experience with Netfirms?

We've hosted our site with Netfirms for the past few years... at first they were okay, but quality and service have steadily declined. We started with their mid-range plan, and following periods of downtime lasting days in some cases, we upgraded in the hopes the issues we were having would be resolved.

We currently have their top business hosting plan... and while uptime has improved markedly, recently we've been having serious email issues (which after more than a week have yet to be resolved) - obviously not acceptable for business.

Customer service for all but the most straightforward requests has been nearly non-existent, since day one. When we approached them with problems, we had the same issue with them denying the problem was occurring.

It will be an enormous pain to move our sites, files and databases, but it's become apparent that they are just not a quality company. I'm currently in the process of researching a new host.

Years ago, could be 4 or 5, I used their free hosting for a while. It was OK as far as I could see, but I wasn't monitoring it much. It was just a hobby site I was hosting there.

Reproducing an issue is not always easy. When you say intermittently, what do you mean exactly? How long did the error linger before it disappeared?

There is definitely something wrong with the Company where Sales Rep.
when asked: - what is your last name, says: - We are not allowed to reveal
our last names.

Not to mention, the company where: customer services, support gay,
sales rep. and administrative rep. all of them named Mike

I have to say and say always. If you have tons of trafic - move to dedicated with strict connection speed. And will never have troubles.

If the traffic levels are not high enough to bug down the server, if whomever is managing the server is doing a good job at keeping it secure and well performing, if the network is stable. Just saying that a dedicated server is not a panacea.

I don't really know if you can trust these review sites, but that's Netfirm review

In case you decide to look for a new registrar/host, I' recommend Namecheap , excellent support service plus cheap hosting plans.
