So in the process of moving servers I have run into an issue with Cpanel and was wondering if someone has seen this issue before, I checked through the forums (and Googled it of course) and have not found anything yet.

Basically I created an addon domain, and when I created it I misspelled the name of the folder it would go into /public_html/missppelledfolder being slightly OCD when I noticed that I knew it would bug me for the rest of that site's life so I decided to fix it now instead of later down the road, so I deleted the folder, then the addon domain.

After that I went in entered all the info to recreate the addon domain, and I get the error.

"There was a problem creating the addondomain. Show Details"
>
"Error from domain wrapper: Domain already exists, it was not added.: username.maindomainname.com"

I have been through the site and can not find any trace of it under addons, sub domains, file folders etc, is it something in Cpanel I am missing or do I need to do something in WHM?

Any advice or insight would be much appreciated.

You already know you did it backwards.

It wasn't removed from one of the configuration files because the folder could not be found. Your host may be able to do a manual edit of the file in question. I don't think there is anything you can do.

It is a long shot. You might try adding the deleted mis-spelled folder back and see if it shows in your panel.

Then delete it from the panel.

When I contacted the host they said I could remove the addon domain through the control panel or SSH anyone have any ideas on that?

Not on the ssh. When you get to that level you are working with the raw config files. I would have to buy my son dinner to get that done.

Login to your whm and see if it shows there. If so delete it.

If your host isn't willing to help and you want to change all your passwords to something you will never use again, I will take a look for you in the morning. You can PM me the complete info.

I am not a server admin, but I have a small hunch where this could be from. First, there appears to be a bug in cpanel:

Edit httpd.conf and remove the addon domain. As usual, keep a backup of the original file, just in case.

With some help from colbyt it appears that the problem has been fixed, in WHM running a DNS cleanup seemed to work wonders, many thanks and GL to anyone else with this issue.
