Anyone know if this is a good hosting company?

I saw this on one hosting site.."company providing web hosting for the Herefordshire and Mid Wales area of the UK" - does this mean that it is better to be hosted by a company in your local area e.g I live in Northern Ireland should i try to use a hosting company based here? thanks

If your site's traffic is predominantly coming from a certain country, it's not a bad idea to host there. Hosting locally will mean a slightly faster page load time, and might bring in some SEO benefits. However, if you use a country specific domain name then the SEO benefit is already there. Make sure that the servers really are in that area, as lots of hosting companies may cater locally, but rent servers in the US for example.

Some would also prefer dealing with a local company as should things go sour, it's easier to make the host responsible, there might be customer protection agencies you could easily appeal to etc. Also, if support is not there 24/7, the time difference can be a serious issue.

If I'm not mistaken, you are referring to my hosting company with that quote.

I said Herefordshire and Mid Wales as this is my local target market and I am establishing myself as a local company. I do however have some clients from outside of the country as well. ldcd's advice is very good though

I was unable to find any feedback of the easily.com services, but the WhoIs lookuo showed thу domain was registered in 1996.

if you can't, try google searching the company name then, let the results speak for themeselves. If they are reputable, there will be results and reviews

This statement is simply identifying their main customer base, it is not telling you where the servers are, if you are looking for servers in that area, (local servers can increase load times by 1 or 2%) you should find out where the servers themselves are.

Where is the datacenter of this web hosting company located?

If you are talking about my hosting company (the statement that was taken from my site in the first post), then the datacenter is located in Maidenhead, Berkshire in the UK.
