What do you mean by 'overloading'? What type of sites were these?

Server overloading is not a stupid reason. You probably contend that your site(s) couldn't possibly overload a server, but weird things happen. Search engine robots are one such cause, and others can be imagined as well. Then again, on an already very packed server, even a slightly busier website will lead to overloading.

It's a good tone to send your client a note about his site causing a server crash backed up by site logs and offer him either to optimize scripts or upgrade to a bigger account.
But from the threads below I have got the impression that they may suspend accounts without warning

What you're really saying is that the host closed your sites down because they were using too many resources right? What kind of sites do you have and were you using too many server resources?

I haven't had it happen with Siteground (never used them), but I have had it happen and the host was 100% correct.

I wrote a script that had a leak when millions of records were processed simultaneously, and the popularity of the site knocked the server completely offline. So the host, quite rightly, shut it down.

In other words...the problem is likely that you did something incorrect, not the host.

Had no experience with them but it's a pity to read about your troubles with them. Hope you'll find a better one.
