What do you call "a lot"?

Also it might help if you explain what you want so much diskspace for - there may be some better option for your needs, rather than a VPS.

Finally, I can't post without been drawn on the cheap point; namely that if you want to get anything that works then you'll have to pay the going rate for it. VPS's are really very easy to oversell by overloading hardware nodes - this can happen in many different ways, and therefore providers with experience and a firm commitment to quality are the only sensible choice for VPS hosting.

I think that you have to consider companies which have specialiazation in VPS servers. I suggest you have a look at those companies:
Vpsland.com
RazorServers.com
Depending on your project I'd suggest you have a look also on semi-dedicated solutions:
A2hosting.com
westhost.com
Also have a look at small dedicated servers solutions:
Hostgator.com
Lunarpages.com

ServerPoint.com offers a VPS.
Disk space 5GBs
Guaranteed RAM 128MBs
Bandwidth 300GBs
IP addresses 2
$19.99/mo
$199.99/year ($16.66/mo)
$349.99/2 years ($14.58/mo)
Think it's quite acceptable.

If you're looking to actually use that much transfer/month at that price then don't expect your VPS to actually work - the nodes will be so oversold you'd struggle to find the CPU with a floodlight! It'll be somewhere under the dust kicked up by the fight between all the VEs.

You get the idea I'm sure that you knew that when you said you were asking for cheap stuff though.

What are you hoping for in terms of memory? Is a VPS definitely what you need - rather than a cheap overselling shared provider for example?

Don't necessarily always think "cheapest" what you pay for is what you get. I know of some power-house VPS plans that would easily suite your attire.

I would suggest you
Jaguarpc.com
RazorServers.com
VPSland.com
Cheapest do not mean quality one. Or you are going to only to buy VPS and don't do something with iT?

A reseller is a companyor individual that purchases goodsor services with the intention of onselling them rather than consuming or using them. This is usually done for profit (but could be onsold at a loss). One example can be found in telecommunications, where companies buy excess amounts of transmission capacity or call time from other carriers and resell it to smaller carriers.
A virtual private server (VPS, also referred to as Virtual Dedicated Server or VDS) is a method of partitioning a physical server computer into multiple servers that each has the appearance and capabilities of running on its own dedicated machine. Each virtual server can run its own full-fledged operating system, and each server can be independently rebooted.
If you want to get reliable services in these field, I'd avise you Ahosting.biz. This company provides their services for affordale prices and they are reputable.

juio, ahosting.biz don't have any vps deals in their plans,
as for serverpoint.com offer, 128MBs RAM may not be enough to operate cpanel, I'd recommend to go for plans with more dedicated RAM. Also do you get a managed vps plan from them? Do they have cpanel installed? If not, what other panel do they offer?
One more stable host with vps plans is asmallorange.com, they have cpanel installed on all their plans.

My opinion would be that if the TS is looking for value for money, he should avoid cPanel/Plesk/DirectAdmin and go for webmin/virtualmin instead (if any panel is needed).

Also a provider using openvz instead of virtuozzo (or xen) would be more likely to provide the kind of value for money he's after since it doesn't cost anything for the provider - in terms of licence fees for the software.

So to summarise, you'll get the "cheapest" deal with an open source virtualisation platform running an open source (or no) control panel.

Why do you think like that? Do you think Virtuozzo fixes all issues?

No... please re-read my post! What I'm suggesting is that the TS looks for a provider using an open source virtualisation platform since this means that the provider has lower overheads - i.e. no licencing fees for it.

Therefore that would be instead of Virtuozzo! OpenVZ (similar to Virtuozzo) is one such virtualisation platform, but I thought I'd clearly explained the reasons why it would help them get more for their money if they're looking for the cheapest VPS plan possible.

I.e. a cheap provider with less overheads is more likely to be able to provide a "good enough" service than a cheap provider paying out lots in licence fees... quite possibly for virtualisation features that the TS wouldn't need anyway.
