Hi, I am planning to start a free hosting site, like 5 gb banwi...ect for a free acount, but i can't figure out which hosting account is the best and cheap to run a free hosting website? Please give me some suggestion and help me out.

I recommend you read several of the posts such as "5 important tips when choosing a web host" and several other of the posts in this forum.

Then search around for reseller or VPS accounts - reseller obviously cheaper and a bit easier for beginners, with VPS more complicated since it is like a mini-server.

I recommend you choose a plan that is not oversold too much - the resource limits are realistic, not stupidly high.

Keep in mind that some companies don't allow resellers to offer free hosting, as the type of end users they tend to attract is not exactly to their liking (spammers, scammers, server abusers, hackers etc). You need to carefully read the terms of service.

In my opinion, no it's not. It's MASSIVELY oversold - they are offering 1TB (1000GB) of web space which is more than you'd find on a single dedicated server!

Your first reseller plan would probably be about 5-10GB web space and maybe 50GB of bandwidth to start off with. That might be priced at about £10 ($20).

If you choose an oversold plan like HostGator's, then you are asking for trouble. Once you start using large amounts of space, they'll start losing money on you and support and reliability may well go down. $13 for that is completely unrealistic. I would recommend eUKHost for reseller plans (if you are in the UK at least) or Servint for VPS in the US.

For the purpose you've described, no. They don't even allow reselling off shared hosting accounts.

That being said, you'll definitely get value for the money they ask (based on my experience at least).

as mentioned above, i here alot of bad things lately with hostgator, all the big boys seem to oversell in an attempt to grab as many customers as possible along with other leading providers that offer similiar plans.

You may also want to "automate" your account creation process if your offering free hosting. But that's something you will think about later i'm sure.

I hope you have a realisitc business plan, before starting the free host. Normally it is difficult to monitize and free accounts rarely converts to paid one.

you seem to be new to the hosting business and so may i suggest that you make sure you have enough money to start with
getting a reseller is the best option to start however but you will be paying about $25 a month and if its offered for free then you have to make sure you can cover that cost

i was also planning on running free hosting but there is alot of competition and so you would need to be willing to spend a fair amount to publicize the site and gain your customers

make sure too you have a site setup before and working properly and you understand hosting so that you can offer support to your customers even if it is limited support

Think you may buy cheap shared web hosting from HostGator.com, DreamHost.com say MarbleHost.com and get a lot of free bonuses from them as this company have many interesting offers for free (preinstalled scripts, for example).

If a lot of hosts don't lie the idea of giving out their plans for free, you may look at reselling from a VPS account. That's only if you are ready to support clients yourself. Jaguarpc.com or serverpoint.com might be good options then.

What makes you so sure you can compete with over thousand hosts that are already offering free hosting?

if you have too much free time on your hands then I would suggest get yourself some hobby, build origami, or go for a walk in park and feed pigeons, or something

I think that it would be more expensive. Because he will need to pay for hans on support as well which is not needed on shared web hosting account.
