I wouldn't go for WebHostingPad I heard bad things about them, as you can see on this thread.

I assume that you need to ask them for a favor and provide you web hosting service for the tests. I assume that you can ask any web hosting service provider about it.

Excuse me? I assume that you have mixed webhostingpad and Hostgator...
Or they are affiliated somehow with each other?

Okay, I am posting here to this old thread, because I can't start a new thread.
I have heard alot of bad things about webhostingpad through here. I currently have webhostingpad and every once in awhile I discover that my site doesn't come up and I can't log in to my account. I got that awhile back here and there and thought o well, no big deal and its cheap anyway. But now I am spending time to SEO and getting backlinks. I was finally getting to the 2nd page result for my main keyword and now its back to 8th page as before(and dropped down a few spots on that page).
Now does everyone think that the poor hosting service through webhostingpad might be the cause for this?
Either way, I am thinking about getting better webhosting that isn't too expensive. Now I have a few questions for people:
-I am not familiar with transfer the whole website over to another host. Can I easily tranfer the all the files, pictures, and the extra Wordpress blog from my site? And how would I do this?
-I am thinking about either HostGator or Bluehost. Would these be good webhosts?
I would appreciate everyones responses.

I was surprised when i signed up being how cheap it was, but I have had a great experience. The cpanel software is great and the support surprisingly good. I would definitely recommend this for anyone how wants great hosting and doesn't want to shell out a mint.

Yeah, honestly its not that bad for how cheap it is. My only problem is that I discovered some downtime everyonce in awhile that I got on the site. And Im not on it all the time, so you never know how much its down.
So if you have a site that your paying money for advertisements or have an affiliate working hard to send you traffic and the site doesn't come up- your losing business and wasting money for nothing. If its a small site that your not trying to monetize (fun personal or hobby website), I probablly would recommend it to people. Alot of people have said that it is kinda scammy, but I never thought of it that way-but then I have not had alot of experience with different hosting companies so I might not be aware of stuff.
So know I am looking to move to another hosting company. Any suggestions on how to do it and where a good place to go is?

Unlikely. You can't control Google, and one algorithm upgrade of theirs might advantage your site, another might not.

I suggest you sign-up for a free monitoring account from Pingdom.com. Usually there's more downtime that you don't know about, than downtime that you catch yourself. Pingdom will let you know what happens to your site when you're not there to check.

Personally, I've always had a good experience with Hostgator.
Here are some uptime records of accounts I have with a number of hosts: http://www.pingdom.com/reports/xdibiaa9tyvu/

Thanks for your reply.
I still think that a website on a hosting account with downtime is going to affect googles ability to rank your site. Because think about it, google isn't going to want to put a site up at the top where theres alot of traffic if you can't acquire that traffic at times. Googles whole business model is to show searchers great quality sites and if they show a few thousand people a site and those people click on it- then nothing shows up. Well that looks like bad results by Google. Google wants to keep people on their search engine and be recognized as having the ability to produce great results, not sites that are down.
Also, if googles algorithms are to change, its NEVER going to be advantage to a site with bad hosting.
The PingDom site looks like a good idea. I'll keep that in the back of my mind.
Also, I have heard from alot of people that HostGator does have decent service. I think Im going to try theres out.
lol, now how to go about switching my files and blog from webhostingpad to HostGator? Yep, I have never done this before so it might be a very simple process. Any help

They lie to your face right on the homepage when they say "today only" or "this weekend only" for the promotion, as it goes on forever. Why trust such a sleazy site? Find a decent honest host.

I think that will not be really difficult task, even for the web hosting company you would like to move your sited to. The issue is in the control panel which you are using. If your old web hosting company and prospective one have the same control panels I think you will never have the problems with the moving
Good luck

Hello,
I've been with webhostingpad for a year now and up until now, I've been very happy. Their support I thought was really good, they would always reply really quickly to tickets etc.
A few days ago, I receive an email from them telling me that my domain name was up for renewal. When I signed up with them, I specifically remember reading that you get a domain name for free as long as that domain name is hosted on their servers. Well turns out that's not true. Of course, you will not find that on their website anymore but if you google it, you will find alot of websites reviewing webhostingpad saying that you get a lifetime free domain name when you order a hosting package from them. When I told support about this, they claim it was never the case, they never offered that and that just because I saw it on some affiliate site isn't good enough. So basically these guys are telling their affiliates to say something that's not true so that people will sign up with them and then after a year they get the bad surprise of having $14.95 taken from their cc because the domain name you got for free for life is up for renewal!
I'm stuck with them for another 2 years of hosting but I'm definitely NOT renewing that with them when that time comes up!

A little update of my experience:
this morning I come across this page:
https://support.webhostingpad.com/in...barticleid=159
where it clearly says that webhostingpad has been offering the domain free for life deal in the past and when I get on the live chat to talk to one of their representatives and tell them about the page on their website saying that the deal has existed, he somehow just dissapears and the chat has been closed. I try connecting again and I'm on hold forever and I never get a representative to talk to anymore. I've been on hold waiting for a rep for over 2 hours now!
So I'm definitely NOT recommending webhostingpad to anyone out there. STAY AWAY!

I haven’t heard anything about them. It was registered in 2005 which gives us an idea that the company is in the business for the past two years.
