I've heard a lot of web hosting site already. But still in doubt. I would like to ask if what do you think of IX? Is it good? I'm hosting my site there next week.

What I've read about them, generally hasn't been good.

Robert_Jr, I'm more then sure that they have moneybackguarantee period to try them out.
Make sure that your payment method allow chargebacks.

I know a few people who are happy with them, but they have very basic web sites that don't get a lot of traffic.

They are just okay. I am gettting uptime around 99% which is below the promised 99.9, but somewhere in the mid range of the actual uptime provided by well known hosts.

Good thing about them is that they offer diffenrt(mostly class C as well) IP for add on domains. Good choice for hosting multiple sites on one account.

If you dont mind few minutes downtime per day, they are fine. Easy to use control panel and decent support.

I am never heard the IXWebHosting, what is IXWebHosting?

I am currently hosting a few websites off there, there prices are low and they offer good packages, at first i had a problem due to being on a server that had a busy site on, this was causing my MySQL queries to be carried out slightly slower than normal, i mentioned this to there technical team and they sorted me out in no time, my sites are not high traffic as of yet but i have the confidence to think they will run fine with traffic.

I think their packages are massively overselling. Are you really looking for such a business model?

Their Business plus plan gives you unlimited webspace. Personally, I will not go for a host offering unlimited space and bandwidth.

You make ask about CPU loading on their derver for shared web hosting accounts as one of presales questions.

I'm getting ready to dump them. I signed up through their alias "Host Excellence" a year-and-a-half ago.

They're OK if you have no SQL of any kind. It's pure hell if you do. Most of their 24/7 tech support has no idea how to fix PHP or SQL problems. Usually after chatting or talking with them for 10 minutes, they tell you to create a ticket so that somebody else can fix it. This usually takes hours, if not a full day, to accomplish.

I'm tired of being lied to when they say, "we're fixing the problem now" when it's obvious they aren't doing a **** thing.

My discussion board has been down for most of the past week. When they're not giving excuses for the down time, they blame me for screwing up the code, when I haven't even touched any code.

That sounds like a lot of time for just about any issue that might arise in hosting. Is this a Mysql related downtime, or is it due to something else?

IX web hosting is good . I have good experience

I used them for only a few months and hosted only a few very low traffic websites. I can't say I ever had any problems, but again, these were very low traffic sites. They are certainly some of the cheapest around though.

To answer previous questions, my website is almost always up, it's the mySQL databases that are really slow and unreliable.

What I HATE about IXWebHosting is when the database is completely down, they have NO IDEA that a problem exists in the first place. It takes them 5-10 minutes to figure it out once you've told them. After that you have to keep calling them to get it fixed.

The "live chat support" is becoming a joke. Nowadays, you have to wait 15 minutes for somebody to respond. Most people are totally unqualified to be tech support and are sometimes very rude. After they waste 30 minutes of your time, they tell you to create a support ticket to have somebody else fix the problem. I asked them if they could create a ticket for me, considering they were fully aware of the problem - they said NO, they didn't have time for that. Another thing they do is accuse you of changing a script or control panel setting to make the database crash.

My site crashed when I was on vacation one time. I was 200 miles away from a phone or internet connection, at a location that didn't even have electricity or running water, but they INSISTED I caused the problem.
