OK firstly we need to define subdomains and addon domains.

Subdomains use the main domain, but have a prefix also. For example, maps.google.com or search.yahoo.com or something. These are subdomains, where the main domain is google.com or yahoo.com.

Addon domains are a feature in cPanel that allow you to host multiple sites on the same account. For example, you might own a blog and also have a company website - cPanel would allow you to host both of these on the same account.

Find the relevant option in cPanel under domains (subdomains if that's what you want or addon domains if you want to use a different domain entirely). Fill in the relevant details such as the FTP username for the sub/addon domain, the password and the area inside your account that you want the files stored for this domain.

If you are using an addon domain, be sure to change the nameservers for that domain to your hosts nameservers.

I hope this answers your question,
Dan

yes you want to use addon domains then, i have done this with my sites also. This way on the order process you can use those addon domains as possibilits for subdomains for your clients

Addon domain name feature can be used. And if you want separate Cpanel accounts for that you need to have WHM. in case with addon domains you are only allowed to have separate ftp not cpanels. I think that is important fact you need to remember about.

I have taken a host which offers cpanel.
They have brought me a domain for free as an offer.
Now, when i add domains eg. domain.net (addon domains) to the account, it is going to my /home/myusername/domain.net and so it is also coming as the subdomain of my original site ...
My original site was the one that they bought for me.
And also, the addon domain is coming as a sub-page of my main acc...

Hope you people understand what i said...

Pls suggest me as to how to solve this problem...
Thank You in advance...

Hope the domain is registered, I mean the second domain you have tried to use an addon domain. Also you need to update the name servers as the name servers of your current host. If you are still facing difficulties contact the host and ask for help.

yes, it will be like that

When you add the addon domain you can set your folder to /home/myusername/public_html/YourNewDomain

it will create 2 like yournewdomain.olddomain.ext and yournewdomain.com, dont worry, upload your files to the public_html/yournewdomain and yournewdomain.com will work...

Hope it helps you.
