Hi,
I am about to launch a website, and need to buy hosting and a domain. I found a package on Network Solutions that includes a domain name and hosting for 70 dollars. You can see the package here:
I was wondering if anyone has ever had any good/bad experiences with them. I have a friend who highly recommended them, but was wondering if anyone else has ever dealt them. Thanks!

I would always register your domain seperate from your host so you maintain total control over it. I would recommend godaddy.com or cheapdomain-registration.com as registrars.
Best of luck.

I have heard some pretty mixed reviews about network solutions, also I recommend Namecheap.com for domains. I have most of mine there.

Thanks Lippy. Namecheap.com looks like a good site. Only 8.88 dollars is a good deal. I would rather just get a domain and hosting together though.

I hate to say it but I agree with the previous poster, get them seperate. I have seen countless horror stories of the hosting company holdoing ones domain name hostage. Though it is convient to have them the same place it is safer to have the seperate.

I would say a hosting and domain combo plan is ok as long as you have your domains password and access to a administration section for your domain as we offer.

To repeat what others have said, always make sure that your domain and hosting are separate. The last thing you want is to have to pay money to a less-than-adequate host simply because they have control over your domain and consequently your traffic.
I would not go with NetworkSolutions for my domain or my hosting. They have proven to be unethical in their business practices (e-mailing GoDaddy customers that their domains had expired). They are also overpriced for what they offer. There are more professional hosts with better packages, for less.

I'll second most of the above comments. Keep them separate. I've heard some horror stories with Network Solutions. I would stay away from them just to be careful.
