Has anyone ever used 1 and 1 hosting? They offer a 60 dollar a year package that includes a lot. It looks really good. I was wondering if anyone has had any good/bad experiences with them. Thanks,

Their customer service is horrible. You wait ages and when you get somebody, they don't know what they're talking about. I havent recieved the free software yet (its been more than a month). I ended up cancelling and everytime i call i get a different answer as to when my money is coming back to me. The packages are ok but i needed to be able to customize more. Theres tons of hosting out there, i can't give them the thumbs up...........

I've used them before and was quite happy, support is a little slow but they've always been good to me.

No experience with 1and1 support, but I have been using them for nearly a year and have several sites on my server. I am very happy with their performance. Their control panel started off very mediocre, but they have exhibited a dedication to continually improving the quality of their proprietary control panel.

I am very pleased with them and recommend them regularly.

Take it from someone who was with 1and1 once and then dropped them.
DON'T GO THE 1and1 WAY!
I thought they were good at first. But then I noticed a few things. First of all, you know all the POP3 email boxes 1and1 advertises? Those are <i>through</i> 1and1's mail servers!! So, your user name will look like this: 34238634-yourselectedusername . The mailservers...would you like them to be 'pop.yourwebsite.com' and 'smtp.yourwebsite.com'? Not with 1and1! ALL email goes through pop.1and1.com and smtp.1and1.com. Which brings us to that drawback--some people who have websites on 1and1 and use 1and1 email SPAM PEOPLE! And spammers usually get their mail server IP blacklisted by email service providers. And when everyone is sharing a mail server (and mail server IP), MANY INNOCENT PEOPLE CAN'T SEND EMAILS BECAUSE THEY GET BOUNCED BACK! I have been blacklisted by aol, excite, hotmail, and msn. Any professional webmaster can not put up with that...
DON'T GO WITH 1and1.com!!!
Their support is terribly slow, as they take 12+ hours to get back with your emails. Want phone support? You can have it. You just have to wait a few hours on hold to speak with a human.
And one more thing...if you want to share an IP with 30,000 websites, go with 1and1.com. The main reason I got rid of this service is because they threw me the same IP as 30,000+ other sites.
Believe me, don't go with 1and1!

I haven't been their client but I was asking them a questions
and they replied for 1 day (support)
that was not super but was good support I think how say one of us
a little slow but that is not a big problem I think
I can say that they offer maybe the cheapest Domain Registration Service
5.99$ for a year
netfirms.com offers 4.95$ for a year for a domain
but their domain name services are limited you cannot register
10 domain names becouse I think they do not earn good money from the domain
(1 or 2$ per domain are they earning I think, and so their service is limited)

For 1and1 I think their servers are faster than the Planet and Everyone servers
If you trace www.1and1.com and www.theplanet.com
You will see a big difference !
Example:
1and1.com from my country is 110-120ms
ThePlanet.com from my country is 160ms
which is big difference for their speed and quality of their servers !

I think that they offering very good VPS (Virtual server hosting)
for 49$/mo. I think this is very good price giving the server with Plesk !
I am not affiled with 1and1 I have a different company
But I can recommend them for VPS Virtual Server hosting
becouse they have faster servers than the planet and everyone...
I Think to purshaising one VPS server from them !

But when you buy VPS server look they have hidden fees that is not written
on the first page !

I think that they are very good company and I can recommend it, but
I am still not their client for VPS server !

I hate them. I have regular down time for unexplained reasons, they block my account regularly, even tho i pay in 6month sets. Support is non-exisant! I rang/emailed every day for 3 weeks and got NO response!
