I cannot enter each day to see if my site is having any difficulties
I would like to have some solution to bring me information about UPTIME and SPEED. These are most important i think. Anyone pls ?

I use IP CHECK for server monitoring, its rammed full of really indepth monitoring features, but is quite costly ...

PS: Im thinking also to start a monitoring server with a friend who is linux specialist.

You spoked ! This is the exact solution my friend told me ! Zabbix or Nagios !
So a free well known idea would be very good since as far as i know is not a very consuming system.

Nagios can be a bit of a pain to setup but it is definitely a top notch monitoring solution when you have it configured properly.

If think peoples should start testing their server before they say
"What Server is better" or
"My server is the best", "my server has the lowest price"

Nobody reports at the and of the month something like "your server was up 75% this month"
How can you know the sever is not down between 3AM and 7 AM each day?

In the internet there's a lot of tools to checking site uptime and it's very usefull right now, I think the best way to check uptime of your server and see if server providers tells you truth try to use some uptime services.

The trial period with Pingdom.com is free. Or you can try Hyperspin.com.

Use Serviceuptime.com. Nice device.

I think that you need to take it easy. Just add your web site to the third party tracking services and check it.

If you have access to more than one server you could use smoke ping to monitor the server's response and network uptime
