I am considering a new host. i have narrowed it down to 3 hosts:

1. http://www.lunarpages.com
2. http://www.midphase.com/
3. http://www.hostrocket.com

Which one should i use? Has anyone had any experience with any of these hosts? (i am looking for quality not how cheap they are)

I have heard some good reviews about lunarpages. Best bet would be to goto webhostingtalk.com and do a search on them as there is normally a good list of a reviews and comments on all hosts.

I haven't used any of the hosting companies that you mentioned but if you are looking for a "quality" host, I would recommend EasyHost at www.easyhost.com or Netnation at www.netnation.com. I used to use NetNation and they were really good, always answer the phone but their plans were more pricey for my small site so I switched to IPOWERWEB...horror story...then I went to Easyhost and it's been smooth sailing ever since.

Only host in your list I have heard of is hostrocket and I cannot remember if it was good or bad. I also recommend you google the hosts and check WHT.

I haven't used any of the hosts that you mentioned but I would recommend www.hosting.mixcat.com

Don't know exactly. Maybe hostrocket.

HostRocket is OK in terms of reliability but their control panel is very much lacking - nowhere near CPanel X.

I have used lunarpages for just over a year now and have never had a single problem. I don't know if their customer service is any good, because I have never had to call or email them.

I guess HostRocket is one of those hosts that really polarize people. I've heard a few people say that they are the best host ever, and more who say that it is one of the worst. That is definitely not a good sign. They seem professional to me, but I would do more investigation before signing up with them.

I've heard a lot of good things about Lunarpages. They've been around for quite a while, and they seem like the best option. I haven't heard anything about midphase.com.

You can do one more thing. Go to web hosting directories like
www.actionjackson.com
www.ahostingservice.com
http://www.askwebhosting.com
http://www.findsp.com
http://www.hostbyte.com

and do a research like which web host companies are listed in top list there with good reviews. That is time consuming but it is worthwhile.

Priyanka, Do you think people can belive these web hosting directories, I think most of them list their affiliate hosts.

Alot of them get commisoin and list the highest commision first.

i would reccomend www.w3dwebhost.net , their free hosting is great but their paid hosting signup isnt finished yet

Lunarpages are fine, I've got one site on their shuttle plan ($8 a month) that does 25-30,000 page views a day and they've rarely been down the last year, nor have they kicked me up to the next plan. Futurequest.net is another one I'd recommend - hosted a few sites with them over the years, but still a wee bit pricey...
