godaddy is the very best.

Domain names for $6-9
50 megs of hosting with everything (but cgi) for $4.
Many megs with cgi for $9.
Real live people to talk to if you have a problem (wait may 3-5 minutes)
Been with them more than a year and have NEVER known my site to go down.
Everything I have done with them has gone smooth as silk.

but an an extra 18 dollars or so for private information. but overall godaddy is a good site.

i would say GoDaddy is very overpriced (not the domain names, but everything else). many people would also say that there is no best host, there are host which suit a particular need better than others

Beware of ipowerweb

Their billing team made a mistake and thought that I did not pay. Without sending me a notice they deleted my server files and gave the server to someone else. They gave me another server that is empty.

I did not make a backup for the site for a long time and everything is lost.

They are TERRIBLE!!!

GoDaddy are huge enough but they always try to squeeze more money from you when you want to buy domain only.
