As someone said there are no ideal webhost for everyone or for everything.
For the win/ASP - aspnix.com (affrodable prices)
Linux based - downtownhost.com (not cheap but good and quality one)
VPS - santrex.net (EU/US and Win/Linux for choice provider - very comfortable)
Dedicated server - Hostgator.com (yes I love their dedicated server )

Go for hostgator web hosting. The support is very good.

What about sibername.com? Except for being a domain registrar this company also provides hosting, which includes domain names and websitematic tool for site construction. I think that is a good solution!

Dont think what appears to be more is always better, to get something with space and bandwidth which is REASONABLE for you.

Seriously never trust a host which has unlimited bandwidth/space there will ALWAYS be limitations on how much you can actually use.

Since all the psiible companies have alredty been listed (some of the for many times, for some reason) I can only add that it is impossible to find a webhost which would be absolutely the best around all companies, because what is good for me may be not as good for you and vice versa, it is very relative...

You ask question in the wrong way, and that had made this thread full of links, recommendations and preferrances of all the people except for you... You had to ask about the host for the certain parameters, and specs and then you could get help, the REAL help to choose the right company, exactly for you.

Is offering 1TB for $5 that much different though?

I like seeing unlimited better than I do 1TB. It seems more deceiving with actual numbers. With unlimited, well.. it's just more shady. If I were forced to choose between 1TB and "unlimited" i would go with the unlimited. Both heading for the ground, but I think it shows something.

I'm changing hosts in the next week and I've got it narrowed down to two:

HostGator
DreamHost

I need at least 100gb storage and at least 100gb transfer a month. My caviat is that I also require high transfer SPEEDS, because I run a record label and artist sites that have music available for download.

Anyone know if either one is good for the transfer speeds? I asked D.H., but they don't have a test file to see the transfer speed.

Unmetered im totally fine with, becasue it is what it says, which is why i provide the option for unlimited transfer on my servers (have to may more obviously) but its there as an option. unlimited yuk! lol
