I'm looking for a script compatible with phpbb 3.0.1 that allows me to offer free hosting to customers and allows them to have almost full access to their site (control panel, ftp, etc.). The only thing I don't want them to be able to do is to remove the advertising from their site.

Also, is there anything that would allow me to create multiple forums that all share the same userbase. So that by signing up at one you sign up at all of them, and your avatar, sginature, post count, is the same and all of that.

Note: Those above are 2 separate questions. I'm not looking for 1 thing that does both of those, I highly doubt that exists.

Wouldn't the phpbb support forums be of more use for these questions? Or one (or several) of the phpbb "hack" / mod forums?

Guess it must be useful.

I think that for web hosting web site html format is ok. And you can use phpBB for the support forum on your web hosting site.

HTML format is good for all web sites.

chrishirst, phpbb doesn't support these sort of things.

Firstly, I can only think of "multi-forms" scripts. There is no script that's going to give your users ftp access ... thats basically just selling them webspace. If you want to run a free forum host, you're going to have to look for a "multi-forum script". This uses the same set of files, but different databases. So basically, the forum files are not replicated.

Giving your users FTP access means that:
1. You're going to have to install the forum over and over again on your servers, eventualy causing excesive disk space usage.
2. The client would essentially be receiving ful access, and have the right to delete the forum, and use the webspace for anything they may want.

Secondly, I've never accomplished what you're asking in your second question, so I really can't help you there. Sorry.

You are absolutely right. People which took part in the development of the web application knows better then anyone what is better.
And that would be resanable to ask there. Request here gave him suggestion to visit support forums and there he will finsd out what he is looking for.

The first question, is not going to get him far on the phpbb support forums. Quite frankly, they'll simply say that they don't offer support for that sort of thing. Which is what I initially meant. Not that it's not possible, but that they just won't help.

However, the second question is probably going to lead you to an answer. So I would try that out.
