In terms of Mac OSX, I personally use mUcommander. It works really well.
Is this one for Mac only or can be used with Windows also?

I am a filezilla guy. I love that it is free and is a portable application. I love to keep all my webmaster tools on my thumbdrive, you never know when you are going to need them.
Another vote for Filezilla. In my opinion it is the best free FTP program available on the internet as of now. It's very easy to get used to this FTP client and it never gave me any problems or errors while using. I used to do all the uploading with "File Manager" or "Legacy File Manager" within the cPanel, But once I used FileZilla for the first time, I fell in love with it. FileZilla rocks!
Having used many of the free and commercial FTP clients, I was a long time fan of WS_FTP LE . This was the Light "free" Edition , but it is prone to crashing inexplicably when uploading large files. I am going to jump on the bandwagon and say "Filezilla" as it has been a great replacement for WS_FTP.
On a side note, I'd like to recommend a program called "Rightload", you can find it at the following URL.
Use Filezilla and you will not need anything else. I have been using it for around 2 1/2 years with no problems. The developers keep the program updated with regular updates and patches. Filezilla checks for updates when the program launches and ask if you want to update. You click yes or no.
SmartFTP is definatly the one for me... however theres few web based ftps u can find such as surftp.com i believe
Thanks
