So far it looks like the only company that overdelivers in exchange for little fees...

Has anyone tried Hostgator? Are they really that good?

I have been seriously considering them for hosting my new art sites, so I guess I will find out soon!

I talked with one of their sales reps earlier today, and she said that there is a 40-something day trial with a money-back guarantee if I am in any way dissatisfied with their service. I like the fact that their data center is located in dallas texas instead of a third world country. Would also love to hear about any good or bad experiences others have had with this company.

I have the Copper reseller account with hostgator. I have nothing but praise for them. From tech support, to sales and server uptimes - it's all good!

I suppose when starting a new project it is better to choose some smaller company, instead of giants like hostgator... That would make you (me, because this is my standpoint) more secure, but stilll it is important to sign up with a reliable provider.

I m using Hostgator, I chose it because as far as I know it is one of the best,
after I started to use Hostgator for a month, I have received a Warning message from Hostgator, it said you have more than 50,000 nodes in hosting, you decrease it to under 50,000 or upgrade to dedicated server which costs monthly over $ 200, I was shocked I never thought something like this can happen. A node means a file, for example a file can be 5gb and 2kb, each of them has counted. And I had a hosting of 350gb but just 8gb of them was full and it was more than 50,000 nodes.

The solution I bought another host but this time not Hostgator, and moved my Myspace script to new host and the problem is solved.

Anything else is perfect, fast online support, fast technical support...

Just WHAT are you storing on your host account that amounts to 50,000 files ?? ?? That's insane.

Brent Oxley (the CEO/founder of Hostgator) is one of the most seriously dedicated professionals in the hosting industry. I highly recommend Hostgator for anybody who needs shared hosting. They are honest, fair priced and Brent is dedicated to providing superior performance and customer service.

I have used hostgator for about 3 years now... Ive had a few problems, but they are quick to resolve them. They have great up time and great packages... I am considering their reseller accounts, but Id like to stray away from providing hosting right now.

I have researching for reviews regarding Hostgator as I'm finding a better host to switch to. So far they have good feedbacks. I think they are more preferred rather than Bluehost and Godaddy.

The message was sent to the wrong people. The only real issue you're facing when going over the 50000 inodes limit is that they don't make backups of your account anymore. If your inodes count gets so high as to significantly influence the time it takes for disk checks to complete for example, you will be asked to get a dedicated.

They have great up time
My 4years+ experience with them says the same.

Like anything else, if you start to use up too much resources (well before what your plans may claim) you will be dropped. Just watch out for the overselling.

I have a HostGator shared plan (Baby).

I don't plan on going anywhere (for shared hosting).

I used hostator initially but found they were quite expensive for my needs. The service no doubt was good but then Ive moved on to the other free hosts.

They are one of the most reliable hosting company for the price that they offer, which is **** cheap looking at all the features you get.

I have used cheaper hosting in the past and recently decided to use Hostgator.
It's not that hostgator is expensive, but you can easily find cheaper deals.

But it turns out that I made the best decision. I have a Baby plan and I'm very happy. I'm way better than before. But I'm unsure about a few other hostings that seem to be very good and are a bit cheaper than hostgator...

Hostgator would be my choice for a shared host if I didn't need so much CPU/RAM usage- if you're running a 'normal' site that's not a resource hog they are by far the best providers out there!

I used to have a dedicated server with them and I have to say if you need a small server they are great too!

They are one of the better shared hosts, but dont get excited by the space/transfer offered. Like most other hsts, they too oversell but kick the bigger sites citing CPU usage. They are good for small/medium sites.

I am using Hostgator, and it s very good, perfect uptime and support, well I also tried other hosting companys but don't like them, sometimes connection lost, like in total 5 months about 30 hours unregularly connection lost.. they say backup, database problem whatever... and hostgator is faster I think...
