Normally hosting doesn't come with desktop access to use programs such as IE and a FTP client. This would require you to build your own hosting server or lease a dedicated server. If you leased a dedicated Windows server you could get remote access to the desktop to use any programs you wish.... as long as you're not breaking any of the hosting provider's policies.

I think it's not an easy thing to find reliable host which will satisfy your needs, I am sure that Serverpoint.com will provide you with fantastic hosting services as it is also optimized for application hosting and provides more security, reliability and speed than traditional web hosts. You may contact their 24/7 support and they will immediately answer and help you.

It's pretty obvious isn't it??

The OP is basically looking for remote desktop (with the ability to install programs such as FTP clients/browsers etc.) as a kind of proxy server. In that case it sounds like the OP should consider a Windows VPS or dedicated server.

I say Windows because IE was listed as an example requirement, but also it can be difficult/impossible/unreliable to install X on a Linux VPS - but should be possible/simple enough on a dedicated if that's what you really wanted...

However, let's just step back for a second and ask this question: scriptdance, please tell us why you want this? There may well be some other solution which will handle your requirements better and/or more cost effectively...

Thanks for everyone.
yes, I need a kind of proxy server for my job, there are many hosting limited by our country, so I can't work on them.
I want one Windows computer which I can use it with remote control software.
I don't know if the VPS hosting can do this.

So, you're requesting a dedicated server, to use remote desktop and upload something to a 7 dollar shared host?

it looks like he's looking for a HOSTED REMOTE DESKTOP.

scriptdance how much power are you looking for? How much memory do you need for your hosted remote desktop? What sort of tasks will you be doing with the remotely hosted desktop? You're not going to be spamming or up to anything that might get our IP blocked are you?

I just want the hosting server will work like my local computer with REMOTE DESKTOP SOFTWARE, as I just do something like uploading files and browsing websites.
the dedicated server is too much for me, are there any other solution for this?

If a dedi is too much for you, you may buy a VPS say from glowhost.com or VPSlink.com. They have very lovely offers and think you'll be able to choose the right one for yourself.
By the way what budget do you bare in mind?

I think that first of all you need to find providers which are working with proxies and then discuss with him things. You shouldn't guess here - you need do you search in the right direction. This concern will bring you solution for sure.
