Could you please count what setup of dedicated server include. I have seen webcs.com offered that for $50 and now price reduced to $9 per setup: http://webcs.com/webcsdocs/dedicated.html. Have they shortened list of actions needed to be done during setup?
Please let me know, because with such setup price their dedicated servers looks much more attractive.

That depends on the web hosting company, what they mean under SETUP. I think that the best will be contact them and ask what they mean and what it includes.

Saw this post on google so I thought we've reply personally. Setup in a dedicated server sense USUALLY MEANS racking of the server at the data center, installation of the operating system and connection to the internet. And any hardware you ordered. That is the standard definition.

In our specific case, it includes that plus control panel installation. In the case of Cpanel/WHM this includes tweaking and nameserver setup. Most of our servers offer management as well, which covers tweaking and adjustment after the point of setup.

Did you need anything more specific?

Usually this varies between web hosting companies, usually the charge this fee due to the work entailed to setup the server. I'm pretty sure the same amount of work is required per host company and it's rather up to them what to charge. Low setup costs are a great way to generate more customers in theory.

The setup of a dedicated server itself is pretty much identical for every hosting company, yep.

Some companies eat the setup fee, then throw it into the monthly fee. Some companies take a setup fee and invest it in what you are buying like higher quality ram or server parts, etc. Bottom line, give the host a little wiggle room, he does need to pay his bills to provide you with the best possible service over the long-term. take care.
