It means that:
a) Someone else on the server is using your domain. The host could've screwed up while adding the domain to your "account" the first time. This, however, is very unlikely.
b) The Host added the domain to your account the first time, and then deleted it because you later changed your mind. cPanel however is very tricky with such things, and often leaves records of old settings.
For example, sometimes it won't let you delete certain subdomains, even after you manually clicked the "remove" button. Although it tells you that the "subdomain has been rmeoved", it still shows up on your list of subdomains. What's really happening is that although you've removed it from your account, a record for it still exists on the actual server. The same thing may be happening here, but in reverse. Your add-on domain could have a record on the server, but cpanel is telling you that you have no new add-on domains.
