Well you'll need plenty of bandwidth for an image host site.

My suggestions include
a) Us - PM for details
b) Rackspace - Expensive but very reliable UK based
c) Hostgator - Good Cheap US, can be a tad unreliable, but for the money who's complaining.

You need a host that does not oversell, at all! Most hosts, whom oversell, simply don't allow those kind of websites as they use "too much resources".

Basically, if a host is selling 300GB of web space ... you can bet that you'll never get to reach that limit. If they have more than one customer, a simple server wont be able handle that much data storage. Instead, they pray that you'll never go further than 5% of what you purchase. In the most part, it all works out, and they make some good cash ... while also looking admirable!

However, along comes a site like yours. You actually need the web space and bandwidth you'll be purchasing.

Image hosting would be considered reselling, and some of the hosts selling big shared hosting accounts won't allow that.

I'd probably look towards a VPS for that kind of site, if you expect it to get popular.

I second the VPS idea. An image hosting script will often create cpu overloads on a shared hosting server. That's why they often aren't allowed on shared hosting.

Hostgator is good, I can attest to that myself, but thing is, they don't allow reselling off shared hosting accounts, and further they state this:

Examples of unacceptable material on all Shared and Reseller servers include:

A decent fully managed VPS from a respected company will probably start at $40 or so.

I would say go for RapidVPS get service, iv been with them from a long time and never had a problem with them, like everyone said a VPS is the better option but it can cost a bit as you have to pay for the cpanel license.

That will depend on the configuration and level of management.

If I were in your situation, I would look at Marblehost.com and Globaltap.com. They are both reliable, honest and stable companies.

You need VPS not just a web host
