My site, hosted by razor hosting, has been down for about three to four days. Razor Hosting's corporate site is also down. Does anyone have any info on this? I know at least one of the Razor guys posts here. what gives?

Have you tried to contact them through support tickets, emails or via phone. Better way is to try them via phone and what the issue is. Any way sorry for your bad experience. 4 days of down time is too much.

Their whole site is down, so there's now way to email or do support tickets. I can't call them b/c I don't have their phone #. And I can't get it due to the site being down. Plus, their in the UK and im in the US.

In who is look up also it seems no phone number is available. Only hope is that some razor representatives come here and explain the issue. Have you taken the back up of your site?

yeah, that's what I'm. Andrei55, you conveniently enough run a hosting site...

I responded to that link, which is how I ended up with razor. The only reason I did so is because it was free. I've been pretty happy with their service so far, but now...not good. I'll be signing on with a different company soon.

You always get what you pay for eventually.

And the site is back up with a message you should read.

SECURITY BREACH

We regret to inform that all servers we currently own are currently under the control of the law enforcement agencies as a security to breach in the datacenter the servers are hosted in managed to shut down all servers in the datacenter.
As thousands of pounds worth of damage has occured the police have been informed and asked to keep each server under quarantine so an investigation can get underway.
We have been told that the datacenter is doing all they can to fix the problem and apologise greatly for the downtime that ha occured during this security breach.

Again we regret to say that there is nothing we can do during this time to make the investigation go any quicker and i apologise on all the staff from Razor Hosting.

We can say that once the servers has been resumed you will get full access once again, please also note if you wish to host with us then the downtime of currently 4days 15hours will be added onto your billing period so you are losing no payment.

In this situation we have reuploaded our site to a friends server where we will be hosting this website and our support area. We will also once the servers resume normal protocol be keeping the support site on a different network and different datacenter a we understand you have had trouble contacting us.

Please check below for a quick FAQ i have setup.

Can i retrieve my server files:

* No. The servers are currently not connected to the internet so no one not even us have been able to retrieve and files.

Can you host me on another server:

* For the mean time if you are a shared hosting client and wish to have a temp account setup, please note it will have nothing from your original account on it, then please contact our support team. This is a good method if you need your email address from your domain name.

How long will they be down for:.

* At the moment we do not know and apologise greatly.
From RazorHosting Website.

Hello,

I own the hosting company Razor Hosting, im sorry i did not reply on here quicker, it didn't cross my mind to come on here till today howard.

We are sorry for the downtime that has occurred, to all who wished to view our site and those clients that are hosted on our servers, David you should have got an email from our new billing domain www.razor-support.co.uk which i setup last night on our very old server, this will remain seperate from all hosting / reseller accounts so you will be able to contact us no matter what the situation is in the future.

We are offering a temp shared account to all clients so you can get your site back up for the mean time, please contact our support site if you are interested.

I will issue an update once more information comes in but as all web hosts out there know this is a major incidient and one that i wish never occurred but sadly it has, so i just have to be patient as there is simply nothing i can do.

I am pretty sure however that all data on the servers will remain on the servers so once they are back up there should be no problem.

Watts,
Thanks for your update. Hope you will be able to get every thing back soon. One simple doubt it seems there is no phone number in your whois look up why? If some thing like this occurs and clients are in desperate situations it will be helpful if there is one.

Hi Matt,

I will look into that matter now, i can probably work out why, as we registered this doamin a few years back and were not really sure where we were going the original owner of the domain did not bother but i will look into that now.

Thanks for the hope that everything gets back up soon, i really need it, its the worst nightmare any host would want to be in and i think you would agree.

We have now setup our billing / support area on a different domain, different server, good idea you agree?

Sure. No doubt that is a good idea and it can solve problems because of support down if you keep all in one server. Thanks for the info regarding phone number.
Once again hope your problems will be solved soon.
