I was curious if anyone knew if there was a way to limit bandwidth on a certain user's account without using WHM or any other software that has to be installed on the server side.

I have a few friends i'd like to give an account but I don't want them uploading doom3 one night and eating all my bandwidth or something, but I refuse to purchase a reseller plan since it's more expensive + I'm not selling anything.

I dont believe thers a way to do this without some software such as WHM or other software. If you want to offer service to people on your shared account my suggestion is install a script called WHM Subs that should do what your looking for. but its sort of pointless if its only a few frends.

Why not all just all pitch in on a reseller account? you dont need to actually sell anythign to get a reseller account and that way you can host unlimited domains and each have your own section. check around for prices too you can get them pretty cheap.
