I signed up an hosting service with hosting-pp a month ago and got all kinds of problems. The main problem is I can't connect to their server through any FTP clients or access my site, however, I can access any sites in the world from my computer. I contacted them and they blamed it on my ISP. I contacted my ISP and they blamed it on hosting-pp. My ISP did several tests and stated that they can't connect or access my site from their computer. They also mentioned that they can't ping or do nslookup on my domain or even with the IP address.

It's over a month now and Hosting-pp can't figure out what the problem is but stated that the problem might be between my ISP and their server and don't know how to fix this issue.

Normally when I signed up with other hosting companies, it only takes around 2 days to get everything setup.

I complained this to them and they cancelled my account and refused to give me my money back.

What should I do?

Ouch, sounds like you've had a bad experience.

I can't believe they cancelled your account and took your money for that reason, must be a really shady provider, care to share the website URL with us?

Try reading over their Terms of Service and see if you agreed to them being able to do this. The problem with your ISP not being able to connect to your webpage sounds like they blanked-banned a range of IP's that your ISP uses, have you checked to see if your website works from the public library or a friend's house or something like that yet?

Just some ideas and best of luck in the future...

No host should be able to cancel your account simply because you complained. It doesn't matter who's fault it is, the ISP's or your hosting provider, your host should be willing to work with you to solve this problem.

There are alot shady hosts out there, I hope you didn't spend alot of money with them. Probably the best thing you can do now is take this as a learning experience and move to a better host. You can also try issuing a charge back through your credit card company to get your money back.

Make sure you do your research before signing up with anybody.

I too have signed up for a bad host ! I signed up a few months ago for a reseller account, loads of space and loads of bandwidth, sounded great at first. I found that I couldnt log onto my sites either, all 8 of them ! I too couldnt log onto my FTP Program and on the odd occasion that I could upload my files, I couldnt view my own site too check my updates, I couldnt send or receive and emails through my pop email account, I submitted 3 tickets to which nobody ever responded, I got so annoyed that I cancelled my payments, I had just paid for my 3rd month in advance and they stopped my from being able to log into my control panel, I mentioned that it made no difference that I had cancelled my payments, I had still paid in advance for the month, They were hostprince.com, anyone else had any experiences with them ?

wow... looks like a lot of people here have had a very bad experience.

Everyday more and more people jump on to the web hosting bandwagon, but unfortunately not all of them are able to provide the kind of service that is required, which is either due to lack of funds or lack of experience and qualifications.

It is always better to read reviews about a host and talk about them in various forums and tryo t find out their reputation before signing up with them.

Also there are so many great web hosting directories out there that list hosts that are good.

www.askwebhosting.com
www.hostpulse.com
www.hostsearch.com
www.hostbyte.com
www.findahost.smesource.com

for example, these ones dont have any banners or exchange links etc.

OUCH I'm so sorry to hear that you had such a bad time with your hosting company. I can fully relate with you.. I first started out on the net with a company called: Powersites.com and got lots of headaches. Their site kept going down on me. Charged me out ragious prices like $50.00 a month for hardly nothing not even a cpanel. Well after my first year in business and changing host. I decided to study into website hosting and how I could offer a excellent service and at competative rates. After doing about 9 months of research in the field and looking at many website hosting companies which there are A LOT. I've decided to open my own website hosting business. Now with being in the field for over 4 years and doing very well with very little complaints I've added some services to better our services and make them more competative. If your still looking for a excellent website hosting company feel free to click on my signature. Thank You.

This just proves that you get what you pay for (re host-pp.com). The rediculous amount of space and bandwidth for the price simply cannot be sustainable and if it is they'd be an extremely well known and revered host (which they don't appear to be).

Whenever you choose a hosting company always make contact BEFORE you buy. It makes sense to do your research first otherwise you could get burned. A lot of hosts are run by people wanting to make a fast buck - the serious ones are easy to spot: toll free support, reasonable pricing, satisifed customers.

Sorry to hear of your woes. Who are you hosting with now? Are they any better?
