Short version is this: This is something that nobody here can help you with.

There are two main reasons anyone would have a dedicated server.
1/ Their website is large enough and busy enough to need a server all of it's own.
2/ They want to resell the hosting either as a hosting company to JQ Public, or a web design company for their own clients.

That someone could very well have the same amount of knowledge and experience that the "large corporation" does.
As far as selling dedicated servers - read up on colocation. You're not going to find a "Reseller package" for dedicated servers. You're going to need to purchase the servers themselves, colocate them, and then find someone to rent them out to,

ServerPoint is spot on, you need experience. Plus, I think you should be asking yourself if you have a few thousand dollars to invest?

Yes you need to have at least small customer base ready. It means once you sign up for dedicated servers reselling - next day you should resell first server

Many people who are new to buying servers may elect to go with him, just because they are new, found his site, and liked his prices. There are many factors why somebody would choose him, over a company, which all relates back to the person buying not doing their own research.
We don't know exactly how large a company is. Just because they have hosted over 13,000 websites, makes their business large, their company (staff could be 5-10 people.) I know that probably isn't the case, but it's something to think about.

You're not going to get very many customers - they can always go to the host you're reselling from.

But in most cases that information is hidden. And not every end user aware on that. Some of then even do not know who resellers are.

They'll eventually figure it all out.
If they decide to upgrade their plan - they'll wonder why it's taking so long. If they're server is suspended due to bandwidth consumption - They'll wonder why it's taking so long to unsuspend. If they require support - they'll wonder why the same person answers every query (with the wrong answer).
I'm sure most people do some research before they purchase something that costs them $100+ a month.

Yes thats right but since i have come from the webhosting world that is very hard, its hard to start, the costs of the plans are too less and your competition is too high so you cannot employ people to show your a growing company its just a financially stupid business for example a $5/month plan won't pay for a person on $15k a yr would it?
Which is why i only give hosting to people who want it and ask me for it otherwise i don't offer the service anymore, just a headache when trying to compete and will honestly put you 6 feet under if you try both financially and in terms of health.
People who want a dedicated machine from you will want the support and you have to get it right otherwise you lose them its that simple, so knowledge is the key there, and you have to be professional too.
I read earlier you had been hosting for 2 yrs yet in another thread you said you couldn't pay your measly 60usd bill coming up it seems very wrong that.
2yrs of hosting and you cannot afford a 60usd bill you need to look at your prices and what your doing wrong, perhaps get another persons opinion, i have been doing this 10 yrs even though i was in education while doing it, it is **** hard and at a wiff of the wind you can say goodbye to your clients, for example i went into fulltime work and lost a great deal of clients both dedicated servers and webdesign, but through experience i won't be doing that again.
You have to put things into perspective, its not just about the money if your doing this fulltime you need to be at your desk 24/7 or have reports to your email which you get through your phone which beeps or something when you get a message then you can go online and deal with it.

I myself use http://hivelocity.net/ they aren't to expensive. And you don't need to apply, they willl take off the setup fee's on most servers. I make from 10-100/m per server threw them and I have my whmcs to configure a server 100% with them and I just added a little to the price of the configuration or the setup fee for it.

The reason because i cant pay the "measly" $60 bill is because i have to feed my family. Sometimes hosting gets pushed to the back. And the credit crunch does not help. I can provide the support. And thanks for that last post CnaHost your the only one that has answered my question xD

You don't quite get the reason why some of are having a go at you do you?
YOU are simply flying blind into whatever business you are proposing, You have no plan other than "Find something that might make money and jump in". As you have proven in two separate threads, that "plan" doesn't work.
Starting something on a whim, means you need to be able to support the project for several months or even years, until it starts to pay for itself.
In hosting you either need clients ready to buy the space, or the wherewithal to pay for the server or rackspace for 6 months or more. With your "business plan" you need 12 clients instantly just to break even.
Webdesign, it could take 2 or 3 years before you are making enough money to support a business and a family.
Without a reasonable plan to work to and stick with, failure is the only option.
We have all heard about the lucky business man who succeeded in every venture, and the harder he worked the luckier he got.
Well that's the secret to success.
Hard work!

Hello thanks for your reply. I know i have sounded a bit like that on these forums. I do not mean to come across like that. I know that it takes research and time and money. I myself have invested over $1,000 into my webhosting company at this point in time and its paid off. I have got customers who are all happy. The reason for these two threads is i wanted to "expand" the business because i have seen both web design and dedicated servers and VPS are all good ways of making money. All i was looking for is some guidance. I have worked hard to get where i am at this point in time with the website and im glad because its paid off
