I already told that the "unlimited" thing is a tactic to get new customers, to stay alive in this business, BUT IT'S NOT BAD, SCAM OR RUIN YOUR SITES, EVERYTHING IS IN THEIR TERMS OF SERVICE. And show me a site "Which actually uses unlimited disk space or bandwidth", you can't. Just like that in most of the shared hosting accounts you get more than enough to host your sites.

Also, what do you offer for your hosting customers? Can I use an IRC chat with around 12 k people using it at the same time? What's the disk space and bandwidth? Who manages your servers? Could you please give me the URL of your site where you offer the hosting service? I maybe interested.

Also people go with big, established companies for their own safety, Coz they are professionals in that field and if you are not a big company and someone tries to play with your servers or some DDOS attacks... well you can understand.

Right, so they create pointless restrictions that wouldn't otherwise be necessary if they had just taken into consideration that "unlimited" does not exist.

We allow you to host anything legal, just as long as you aren't interfering with the overall stability of the server, and aren't jeopardizing our other clients. You can find our website in my signature, and it would answer all of your other questions.

Okay, so we've established that "unlimited" hosting doesn't exist - and it's used as an advertising gimmick to lure unsuspecting customers. Also, hosts that practice this, create pointless restrictions so that you may never really use "unlimited".

It's like selling you something you can't use.

I don't have anything against you or your hosting company but how would you tell people how much CPU resources they are using? Can they see it in their control panel just like they can do with Hostgator? Also, in your terms you haven't said anything about using IRC chat scripts or any pHp scripts which most probably are the notorious resource consumers.

I think, you guys are already fed up with these dumb people who only care about "unlimited" hosting and you have started overselling the hosting?????

If you have questions about our hosting, feel free to PM me and ask away. PHP scripts should be perfectly fine with most companies... I mean, it's the basis of most communities. We also don't oversell at all.

Anyways, just to move more towards the original topic of this thread, nothing good can come out of unlimited hosting.

I would have to agree that the crazy people that allow unlimited packages do help the market grow, can help someone get in it for cheap, get hooked, and then purchase one of our "good" hosting packages that aren't oversold and provide good support. I think the biggest thing with the companies that sell unlimited packages is that they have terrible support and won't move your site for you or anything like that, but that is just personal experience.

An interesting point about getting more people in the market....hmmm....I'm not sure if it's true though, it would seem to me that if someone needs or wants a website they would buy hosting regardless of whether or not they get unlimited space....but who knows...

I agree on the support issue - but that might just be the way it is with companies as they get larger, unless they have an amazingly good support training program.
