I just learned that IPower Web had filtered all .zip and .doc attachments from their email servers. Try it yourself, send a small zip file to any IPower web server and see if it bounces.
I can't believe they would filter two of the most popular file types to control the spread of a virus! This is not acceptable in my book, and if you find it as ludicrous as I do please call their tech support and complain. If this isnt corrected I am moving all my accounts and will be demanding a refund based on nonperformance.

Sorry to hear about that. I used to have IPowerWeb and experienced lots of problems, so I eventually bailed.

That does seem a bit too much. By that logic we could give up emails altogether. We get too much spam anyway, right?

Why not take away GIFs and TXTs too, while they're at it? That is definitely a harsh reaction, and I don't think it's going to go over well with any of their users...

Good! Looks like you weren't the only one who noticed this and complained about it...

Skip Wiley,

Do you know how long zip and doc files were being filtered?

My old host used to filter out .eml attachments, so you couldn't forward emails as attachments. While I don't do this, and don't really like when people do it to me, it was still an inconvenience.

But as of yesterday, I'm my sites are up (and resolving) with a new host, and all is well so far.
