If you use more than the allocated resources any host will suspend you. And in case of over selling and unlimited hosts they have CPU resource limits or RAM usage limits. Better to read the TOS carefully before sign up.

You shared the server with 2-300, possibly quite a few more other customers. Once you affect the server's ability to perform nicely, from the host's POV you're no longer fit for shared hosting (at least not their shared hosting, or shared hosting at that particular price point).

Im using Hostgator, never had a problem so far, been using them for a good year or 2.

If you use to much resources at any host they will susspend you. LUnarpages/dreamhost/ other over sellers are more strict as they crowd the servers more. It all depends on your needs.

Hostamina is the best - I use them and they don't oversell, they are very unlikely to suspend you, and will work with you to sort out any problems.

For shared hosting I use Upstream Gaming. For dedicated server hosting I use Limestone Networks.

Make sure you know the reason of suspension, because that might be the same on your new web hosting

Since long time m with GOdaddy.. feel comfort.. THeir dedicated allows all tool and application to run

So far, I am comfort with Hostgator. I hosted with baby package.
Support team is well in response.

Hope they will keep it well.

I am with HostGator. I am happy with the baby plan, but I don't get loads of traffic yet.

I tried Godaddy. It's not for me (no CPanel) Must say, their customer service was impressive... I skipped the ticket system & just called them, got help immediately...no wait. I mention them, because they have a plan that automatically adjusts, for higher usage.

Both HostGator & GoDaddy have monthly payment plans. So you don't get locked in a long contract, liker many.

I've been using Hostgator (shared hosting) for a bit over 5 years now. They've grown a lot in that time, and the service got more professional as time went by. So far, they've been like wine. The older, the better.

I recommend going with a smaller host, where you get better customer service. Especially when you're not that experienced.

I'd also stay away from offers that include huge amounts of disc space and band width for little money.

It's a bit like overselling airplanes in holiday season. Those hosts actually count on not everybody using everything they got promised. But if those other clients on your servers do, it's like all people who bought a ticket of an oversold plane, showed up (like it happened to me with "Air Canada")...

... you will be grounded with no seat on the plane/ you will get a slow website.

Also: customer service is expensive. One employee can only serve a limited number of customers well.

So, if it's cheap, they can't pay enough employees for proper service, and you will suffer. If your website is necessary for your business, I wouldn't try to save 50$ a year, and get lots of hassle in return.
