Most web hosts should be fine. My suggestion is to look for a web host with 'Fantastico'. This will allow you to install Wordpress with a few clicks.

It is a good idea to speak with the company's representative to get to know what you will receive exactly.
Have seen nice wordpress hosting plans offered by pacifichost.com and think that you can check them. Their pricing looks affordable and it has nice reviews

I think blue host is the best for u. Its also recommended by wordpress org.

I would also like to add, at least 90% of shared hosts will allow Wordpress to be installed. If you’re looking for the easiest way to install it look for a web host offering "Fantastico". Fantastico will allow you to install Wordpress within a couple of clicks.

One suggestion however, stay away from GoDaddy, their lack of efficient support is un-forgivable.

Fantastico is included into the plans of the most cPanel hosts. I personally advice hostsvault.

Your requirements are very basic. In your case I would just look for a host with a good reputation. You shouldn't be paying any more than $5 per month for what you need.

Hostgator is my recommendation for a good hosting in combination with Wordpress.

They're good indeed. Stable hosting with scripts running fast (tested wordpress, joomla and phpbb3).

Try justhost. They are cheap n reliable

You are correct in assuming it's just as easy on other hosts. This Wordpress installation has nothing to do with HostGator. It's Fantastico that makes it easy to install software (Wordpress) within a couple of clicks. The majority of hosts have Fantastico included with cPanel.

I have many wordpress blogs hosted at hostgator. Wordpress doesn't need many resources, so almost any good hosting package will do.
