I'm thinking about either changing my shared host or getting a cheap VPS.

Anyone recommend some? I've seen good reviews on DiscountASP.Net and KickAssVps.

Any others? Can anyone confirm the good reviews?

I know just aspnix company which has narrow specialization in Windows services and they provide perfect asp.net hosting for their customers.
Prices are average.
Have a look at them.

What is shared account and VPS configuration you are interested in? What are your actual requirements? I think account to account is different and the price as well.
So as you can see there are a lot of ussues to pay attention to

I do not use something like asp or asp.net, the hosting support them are very expensive, and what's more important, PHP is popular. However we here asp and asp.net website can be seen very often, and many students learn them in colleges.

But some web application is working ONLY on that kind of host and that's why he ought to find it.
And yes that is more expensive

That means you can get somebody help you whenever there is a problem with the site, be that in the middle of the night.

Some companies I had reply support tickets after 6 hours or more, if lucky within few hours. Getting support personals online always is a good thing IMO.

I dont know about you, I dont do 9-5 job. Somebody round the clock is convenient for my late hour works when I need help.

Last one year I referred aspNix about 6 clients of mine and about 4 to webhost4life. aspNix people simply put not professional. They sometimes respond after 6 hours, forget about getting in touch on phone.

I don't work a 9 - 5 either, sometimes my day may start at 6AM and go on until 11PM, other days it may start at 3PM and go on until 4:30PM.

Our hosting clients are well aware that we do not provide a 24/7 support, but what they do know is that we WILL respond as soon as possible and fix whatever they have broken.

This is really hard to find outstanding hosting but some below points could make difference.
1) Reliability
2) Instant support
3) cheaper than others but service is equivalent to others
4) Server Response

I didnt know you guys offer hosting. Now I see them on the footer links. Will check them out

Have seen nice offers from m6.net, this company has been providing Windows hosting since 1997, they've experienced all the technology changes from NT 3.5 to Windows 2000 to Windows 2003. Prices are nice and hope they will meet your needs all right.
