Has anybody had any experience with a company called Web Hosting Pad?
I am temted as they have an offer for 4 years hosting for around $95. Including unlimited domains, bandwith, diskspace etc etc.
Was wondering if anyone has had any experience with them, and if so what did they think?
Thanks..

I would not recommend you sign up with web hosting company for such long term. That is not recommended.
Try to search for their domain name to find more reviews.

I have came across really nasty reviews about WHP. People were not complaining their server performance but their customer service and how they tricked and trapped customers into long term contract, refusing refunds etc.. I have never had experience with WHP before but I don't recommend them.

$100 for 4 years, sounds like a scam to me, never pre pay for more than a year that way if they are bad you do not lose out when you leave them.

Performance and reliability are the main things here. Me and a friend will be sharing the hosting so we will pay just under £30 each for 4 years. I do not expect any great customer service for less then I would spend on a friday night in town.
The thing is, the shorter the contract, the more the price goes up. To be be honest 4 years doesn't cost much more then one year. If business gets better one day soon I'll upgrade. But for now I wanna keep outgoings to a minimum.
If anyone does know how reliable they are and whether the performance is good, please share.

I have ordered it anyway. I took up an offer for 3 years at $71. Haven't been connected as yet but I will leave feed back soon.
I paid through paypal so any trouble, and I should get my money back without too much agro. Heres hoping they don't mess about.
So far, I haven't heard any complaints from people who have actual experience with them.

I recommend to stay away from those unlimited hosts as there is no such thing as unlimited. It generally means grossly oversold resources and when you sign up for 4 years you'll have a hard time to switch providers once you realize you're on a tightly jammed server.

This is really hard to find outstanding hosting but some below points could make difference.
1) Reliability
2) Instant support
3) cheaper than others but service is equivalent to others
4) Server Response

Have you tried to do the search on the webhostingtalk.com? It seems any company has at least one review there

It seems to me that Google search will show you more results and reviews about this company.
I have heard good points about the quality of their services.

Do NOT go with this host. I am RIGHT NOW looking for a new host as I have finally come out of a 2 year contract with Webhostingpad.
For the first week or say - they were great!
After that - absolutely terrible! My site would go down at least once a day, sometimes down for five days at a time!
On a different note, can anybody recommend a better web host?

Have you asked them about the issues? How they explain that?

I recommend you to monitor your site's uptime using a free service such as pingdom.com, so that you know exactly what you get now, and compare it with the service from your future host(s).
As for the better hosting, maybe these monitoring reports for accounts I have with different hosts can help: http://www.pingdom.com/reports/xdibiaa9tyvu/

I think for you that would be better try different web hosts and test them to understand which will be the best for you.
And uptime is one of the most important criteria

Update. Have been switched on around a week now and so far things are ok. The C Panel is easy to use. Sites are up and running quick.
I have bee using basic state uptime monitor. So far uptime has been varying between 97% & 98.5%. They do state 99.9%, but for $2 a month i am not complaining.
They also state unlimited. Obviously this is no the case. But I do get 10 GB storage and 100 GB bandwidth. For me this is as good as unlimited. MySQL, apache etc all included. And plenty of other tools I'll probably never use.
For established websites, this hosting is not for you. But for keen amateurs like me. On the evidence so far, they are a good starter host.

Hmm... that means about half a day of downtime per month or worse. Acceptable for some hobby sites I suppose.
Do give us an update a few months from now!
