I am looking for a little bit of advice.

The company I am working for uses two vendors to host our video content because one has needs that the other can't supply and neither are very satisfactory...

What I was wondering, was if anyone here knows of a decent but cheap service that hosts video content?

These are the needs we have:

-being able to host .wmv and .flv video
-being able to host a player.swf that would then call in the .flv videos (rather than embedding the video file onto an html page)
An example of how this is done can be seen the home page of this site:

-ability to track analytics of all videos hosted on the service and to be able to see where the referring source was from (as we host several videos on different locations. We would like to be able to track the file since its posting on the service.

I can see your dilemma there. Most hosts will not allow that, however I know of a few that will. I know of one host, I can't say which one on here, that allows video/audio streaming. I will send a PM to let you know of a host that will.

I believe if you have VPS or VDS you will never had problems with the hosting that.

Gotta agree with SP...time to upgrade to vps or dedi. on shared you won't be able to do what you want to do.

Some shared providers will allow it, it really all depends on the resources that you take up, I wouldn't imagine it being to the point that a hosting provider would get rid of you. VPS and VDS come with a pricetag! But, of course, the choice is up to you!

Some web hosts offer this content support on web hosting. But I suppose you will not be able to share a lot of videos using such accounts.

Price - How much are you willing to pay for this.

Hardware - Do you already have a Server? If so, give me the specs!

I think that is a kind of VPS server using for this purpose. Take this easy
