Hostgator is also a great choice as they have positive reviews in many forums.
In the forums they have good reviews, he said. He never said he had used them before.

After reading through your posts they all seem useless like you are simply advertising your hosting company..

Couldn't agree more with you..

Anyway back to topic, I cannot provide comments on iPage as I haven't used them before. However I used to host my sites with Hostgator and they are pretty reliable, support is good and hardly any downtime. I was with them for 8 months before switching to Justhost as they are cheaper. But don't get me wrong Hostgator is a fine host just that I couldn't afford it.

On the other hand Justhost has been fairly alright too if you have a small site that is just starting out. Only difference I notice is Justhost is slightly slower compared to Hostgator.

My friend used them and said that the hosting a service was sloppy. I am not sure however as I have never used them.

Good luck in your decision either way though.

I think you are under impression of another thread about them here, aren't you?

IPage??....

When I first got into hosting I searched and searched and scrutinized and searched...
Ipage was probably my first choice at one point UNTIL I googled "ipage sucks"...that was all i needed...and i got a plethora of BAD reviews...then I did this with another hosting comp. and another...and another..until I came across one post that i saved in notepad from a forum titled "worst hosting companies" saying:
"First let me say that I understand
that no hosting company is going to be perfect. I
understand that they have to deal with issues every
single day and sometimes an issue may not get resolved
immediately. And now that I have gotten that off my chest,
let me tell you of my experience with a
hosting company called HostMySite.com..."<---i think he slandered them..I dont remember..probably...judging by the way he set up that intro ...ANYWAY..you get the point? google'ing "***** sucks" will get you a "***** sucks" reviews which is counter productive because none are completely reliable..likewise going through a forum with "sleepersales" waiting to promote their affiliate wont either ...if your serious the best thing to do is look at some of these ipage promoter signature links--> go on their site--->get the url and whois look up it...that will tell you who their hosting with..if its not ipage its a scam...or go to the most respected member of any forum and do the process and see who there hosting with...or do it with a respectable blog owner, etc....

Don't waste your time! I had them for 4 months and had to go some where else. The money back is a trick, they wouldnt refund my money because i paid for the directory which was 12.00 I spend a total of 84.00 and did not get a dime back! Their servers are super slow and if your site is a joomla site their mysql is old so it wont work

maybe because they offer 30 day money back guarantee, not 4 month money nback guarantee?

What domain have you hosted with them, and for how long?

Sounds like by your signature you are making some referral money from iPage..

Good to know though you guys! I searched "iPage hosting sucks" and of course got some pro-ipage reviews with the title "Does iPage Hosting Suck? No!" Sounds like they are getting smarter. But I did find one pretty good evaluation of them I thought, http://y2kemo.com/2010/04/ipage-sucks/. Looks like I won't go with them for sure. I'll try Hostgator (or maybe Hostmonster like that reviewer did) probably in July when my contract expires with Webs.

What sort of budget do you have? Any other specific requirements? Perhaps we can recommend a few other hosts for you to choose from

Maybe not "smarter" because they would avoid the bad publicity in the first place.

More a case of giving their "shills" a different script to read from!
