First of all, it should be very easy for others to remember. You can have the name of your company as your domain name, but if a famous proverb or a small phrase very well suits your company, then you can have it as the domain name as well.
Also, make sure not to be too opinionated about your domain name. Ask others if they find it good, and make note of others reactions to your domain name. There are certain factors which you must avoid while registering a domain name, which include:
*Avoid using any hyphens in the domain name since it increases the chances of the domain name being forgotten by people while they type it in their browsers, or even while they want to send you an email.
*Keep digits away from your domain name. For example, if your website is 86.com, then you would have to tell everyone that it's "86" and not "eighty six" or "eighty-six". This is troublesome.

I would disagree about number...You can have few numbers if you want to your domain added, but like someone said that its bad for Google SERPS etc. I would say its crap! Why it should be bad for Google? Letters and numbers are the same value to the search engine. Regarding the troublesome is obvious that if your brand well know you can really have the numbers in you domain!

Thanks for the advice, I've really never thought about the thing with numbers surprisingly. But when I choose domain names, I just try to find a domain with the keywords in it and nothing else.

Make sure your domain name is short, memorable and have COM domain name extension. Do not allow anyone register it for you. Do it yourself if you want to be safe.

Short names/keywords - better when you meet both parametres. Short names are easy to remember, and keywords are always good

I didn't mean keyword overusage, what I meant was - using keyword in your domain name might help you get some traffic for free.

The best remembered domains names have always been short in length, 100% relevant to the work or service provided. When its relevant to the service, I would say keyword thingy is taken care of by itself. The TLD's are more easy to remember though.

Hi,
Choosing a domain name is an extremely important part of designing your website, as that becomes the name of your website. To buy a domain name, you can do so directly from your web hosting provider, or through a separate domain name service (a recommended option for those who are using their own servers). If you're using a separate domain name service for your server, make sure you choose one such as no-IP.com, which assigns you a static IP address, the numerical address that identifies your computer.
Thanks,
Winson

Hello,
As my opinion you can boost up youre domain by these some things:
Your domain name can help boost your ranking in the search engine results pages. Therefore, it is wise that before buying a domain name, make sure that you list the probable keywords which people will search for to find you in the web. The keywords must be related to your industry, your target niche or market, an existing problem that your target audience has, or the solution which you can offer them.
Your domain name must also be as short and as concise as possible, especially if it's your primary domain and you want your email address to house the same name.
As much as possible, it is more advantageous to buy a '.COM' domain name. Sure, '.BIZ' or '.ORG' work OK too, but there is no denying that '.COMs' have greater recall to people.remember that your domain name is an important part of your business.
thankyou

Hello,
Content is the most important factor for on-page SEO but Google certainly does look at the domain name. They look at the age of the domain name and by having keywords in the domain name it will benefit a site.

You seem to have copied and slightly modified some content from http://agentmonhost.com/host/how-to-...ain-name/0051/
It's nice to refer to the original creation when you copy or paraphrase parts of it.

I have always heard people saying that there must be the relevancy between your domain and niche but there are lots of sites which are having non-relevant domain names but they are ranking well in search engine but i have also seen some blogs that rank well in just 2 or 3 blog posts for competitive keywords because they are having relevant domain names.
